Press release: Millennium Country Park Recognised as One of the UK’s Best with Another Green Flag Award Posted 29th July 2025 The Millennium Country Park in Marston Moretaine, owned and run by Charity the Forest of Marston Vale Trust, is celebrating after receiving its 19th consecutive Green Flag Award. The Millennium Country Park, spanning 225 hectares, is nestled in the Forest of Marston Vale, located between Bedford and Milton Keynes. The Park is home to diverse habitats, including woodlands, meadows, and wetlands, along with a network of trails perfect for walking, cycling, and horse riding. At the heart of the Park is the Forest Centre, featuring a café, gift shop, children’s play area, and accessible features, including a Sensory Wildlife Garden and a Changing Places facility. Open year-round, the Park offers a variety of events for all ages, from tribute nights and children’s activities to guided walks and educational talks. The Park is managed by the Charity’s dedicated team of rangers, supported by a group of amazing volunteers, who balance the maintenance of the Park for the comfort and safety of visitors with managing and protecting the diverse habitats for the resident and visiting nature. The ranger team also look after the Charity’s other 12 Community Woodlands across the Forest of Marston Vale, which provide valuable green spaces for local communities. The Millennium Country Park is one of 2,250 in the UK to achieve the award, which is the international quality mark for parks and green spaces. The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
